Do you use a screen protector? What stylus do you use?

I don’t use a screen protector. I have always had one on my iPhone, but didn’t get one for my iPad.  My thinking is that the iPad is in a case/cover that protects the screen. My iPhone is in my pocket or on my desk. It seems there is a better chance of the screen on my phone being scratched than my iPad.  My iPad has taken some hits by the kiddos and it has held up well.  I do have one very small scratch, but doesn’t affect the screen. As for the stylus. Currently I am using a Targus Stylus. I have tried several different ones and you get what you pay for. The clip on the Targus hasn’t broken off like all the others that I have tried. My next stylus will have a pen on one end.  Although I take all my notes on my iPad with a stylus, I have found several occasions where I have needed a pen.

Penultimate vs. Noteshelf

Do you use Penultimate?  Someone asked today.  I have it on my iPad, but couldn’t remember the last time I used it. Personally I think that Noteshelf works better.  Both programs allow you to take notes with a stylus directly on your iPad.  The writing area in Noteshelf zooms in allowing you to write between the lines.  It has several arrows allowing you to move throughout the page very easily. Both Penultimate and Noteshelf allow you to choose lined paper, graph paper, or plain paper.  Penultimate requires you to purchase some additional paper to write on.  The other thing I like about Noteshelf is that it allows you to import pictures, maps and pdfs into a notebook.  Once the picture is imported you can write on the picture, star locations, or make notes on a document. Noteshelf also gives you several pages of clip art to choose from.  Most of which never will be used, but you never know when you may need a smiley face, cheeseburger, cigarette, gun, shoe, watermelon, or eye ball icon.  Really??? I am not sure why you would use most of these things. I use the numbers, stars and arrows to reference points on a map. Both apps allow you to change the color of your ink and the tip size of your pen.  They both allow you to erase anything you have written.  The final question for me… Which app allows you to upload your notes into DropBox?  Noteshelf is the winner for me.
